A student may request a leave of absence (LOA) not to exceed 180 days for medical issues, personal emergencies, or other extenuating circumstances that prevent the student from continuing in their coursework. The student will receive a final grade of "L" in any course that they are unable to complete upon approval of the LOA. Upon return from the LOA, the student must complete the coursework she or he began but did not finish prior to the leave. In that instance, the student must register for the same course(s) in which grade of "L" were awarded. If no grade(s) of "L" were awarded, the student will resume the program requirements as indicated by their Dean's Office.
