Elementary Education (AAS to BS)

Students who have successfully earned the Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Early Childhood Education at Metropolitan Community College may be eligible to earn the Bachelor of Science Degree in elementary education at Creighton University.

To be considered for admission to this program, qualified applicants must show evidence of:

  1. graduation with a minimum 2.75 GPA from Metropolitan Community College,
  2. successful completion of the AAS degree in Early Childhood Education with a grade of C or higher in all courses that apply to the degree,

Students who have completed the AAS in Early Childhood Education at Metropolitan Community College will be required to complete a minimum of 48 additional hours at Creighton University. A cumulative grade point average of 2.0 is required for graduation with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. This average shall be computed only on the basis of all courses attempted while enrolled at Creighton University in the program leading to a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education.

B.S., Major in Elementary Education Requirements: 75 Credits

Beyond the required courses taken order in to fulfill the associate’s degree, students will need to complete the remaining baccalaureate degree requirements:
