Kingfisher Concentration - German Studies requirements (9 Credits)
The German Studies Kingfisher Concentrations offers students the opportunity to explore the broad interdisciplinary field of German and German-speaking Europe. The Kingfisher Concentration, which will complement students’ areas of specialization, will allow them to attain proficiency in all language skills (reading, writing, speaking, and listening). It will also give students an optimal framework for attaining a solid foundation of knowledge, experience, and skills that will help them understand the culture, literature, and history of the German-speaking countries. Moreover, the Kingfisher Concentration will help students understand the transatlantic relationship and prepare them to approach productively the challenges facing our increasingly global world. The Kingfisher Concentration not only develops students’ analytic skills but also teaches them to recognize, negotiate, and appreciate cultural difference.
This Kingfisher Concentration has an associated minor that allows for continued study of these topics: German Studies Minor
